Andrew MacIntyre
Prof. Andrew MacIntyre is Director of Asia Pacific School of Economics and Government (APSEG), Australian National University (ANU). He is one of distinguished Indonesianist in Australia, as he also can speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently. All his higher academic qualifications are from ANU. He hold his PhD degree in 1988 from Department of Political and Social Change, Research School of Pacific Studies, the Australian National University, master in 1984 and honours 1982 from same university.
In 2002, Andrew was appointed as fully professorship and Interim Dean, Graduate School of International Relations & Pacific Studies, University of California San Diego, having serviing as Associate Professor at same university since 1994. Andrew is the author for four books focus on political and business in Southeast Asian region and particularly in Indonesia. His latest book is Power of Institutions: Political Architecture and Governance, published by Cornell University Press, Ithaca, in 2003. He also contributes to more than 50 articles and book chapters.
Andrew's invited academic research presentations are distinguished to very prestigious institutions. Andrew also provides his academic contribution as editorial board and referee for number of peer-reviewed journal in economic and Southeast Asia study. His consultancy services for government cover government institutions (CIA, National Intelligence Council, US Marine Corps, USAID, Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Australian International Development Assistance Bureau, Australian Department of Industry, Technology, & Commerce), international Institutions(World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Asian Development Bank), and private companies (Atlantic Richfield Oil Corporation, Pty Ltd., IDP Australia, Boral, Lewis Constructions).
